What are the responsibilities and job description for the Caregiver position at West Wind Court inc?
Responsibilities:
- Provide assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Administer medication according to prescribed schedules and document any changes or concerns
- Monitor and report changes in clients' physical and mental health to the nurse or supervisor
- Assist with meal preparation and ensure clients' dietary needs are met
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients
- Implement behavior management techniques as directed by the supervisor
Skills:
- Experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or similar care settings, is a plus but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of ADLs and ability to assist clients with these tasks- Helpful but can be trained.
- Familiarity with medical systems and ability to follow care plans- training available
- Basic understanding of first aid procedures
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare professionals
- Ability to manage challenging behaviors with patience and empathy
