Reporting to the Executive Pastor, you will work closely with ministry staff, parents and guardians, and committed volunteer leaders. You will help students grow through gathering, growing, going, and giving, while developing ministry aligned with CLC’s mission, vision, values, and strategy. Recruiting, equipping, and supporting volunteers is central to this role.

What You’ll Do

· Plan, coordinate, and lead middle school programming, including lessons, activities, small groups, and volunteer coverage.

· Select and teach biblically grounded curriculum that connects with middle school students’ questions, experiences, and development.

· Build meaningful relationships with students through teaching, mentoring, small groups, and appropriate involvement beyond regular programming.

· Encourage disciples who make disciples and coordinate the “I Believe” process that prepares students for a public profession of faith.

· Recruit, onboard, train, schedule, and support volunteers; provide resources, coaching, and encouragement for their ministry and spiritual growth.

· Partner with parents and guardians through clear communication and support for their children’s spiritual development.

· Respond to student and family concerns with care and discretion, referring matters beyond the role’s scope to appropriate support.

· Address interpersonal conflicts biblically, consistent with Matthew 18 and CLC policies, and follow safety and reporting procedures for protection concerns.

· Follow CLC’s Child Protection Policies, coordinate volunteer screening and training with designated staff, and maintain appropriate supervision, boundaries, and confidentiality.

· Coordinate registrations, permissions, emergency contacts, and medical information for ministry activities.

· Plan special events, service opportunities, and short-term mission and outreach projects; events, retreats, with occasional travel.

· Manage expenses within the approved budget and maintain student records, attendance, volunteer schedules, and ministry communications.

· Collaborate with Children’s and High School Ministry leaders on the Pre-K through 12th grade discipleship pipeline, including the transition from fifth to sixth grade.

· Review ministry progress with the Executive Pastor, attend staff meetings, and contribute to ministry improvements and other assigned responsibilities.

Required Qualifications

· A personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ, commitment to His Lordship, and conduct that models Christ in thought, words, and actions.

· Agreement with and commitment to CLC’s mission, vision, core values, and doctrinal beliefs.

· Active worship attendance and involvement at CLC, including availability to lead middle school teachings during church services.

· Relevant experience working with youth in a church, ministry, education, or related setting; staff or volunteer experience considered.

· Ability to recruit, equip, and lead volunteers and collaborate with staff, parents and guardians, and ministry leaders.

· Ability to teach Scripture accurately and communicate biblical truth in ways that connect with middle school students.

· Understanding of middle school students’ spiritual, social, and emotional development and ability to build appropriate, caring relationships.

· Strong organization, communication, planning, and follow-through, with the ability to prioritize and work independently.

· Sound judgment, discretion, and commitment to confidentiality, student safety, and appropriate boundaries.

· Basic proficiency with office technology and willingness to learn church-approved scheduling, recordkeeping, and communication tools.

· Ability to meet the established part-time schedule and event and travel expectations once confirmed.

· Satisfactory completion of CLC’s required background screening and child protection training.

Preferred Qualifications

· Associate or bachelor’s degree in ministry, biblical studies, Christian education, education, or a related field preferred or equivalent relevant experience.

· Experience leading middle school ministry, teaching youth, facilitating small groups, or coordinating volunteer teams.

· Experience planning youth events, service projects, or mission and outreach activities.

· Experience with ministry budgeting, student records, and church management or volunteer scheduling systems.

The Ideal Candidate

You connect well with middle school students and enjoy helping them explore Scripture and grow in their faith. Your leadership reflects spiritual maturity, sound judgment, and responsible stewardship.
