Title: Assistant Outdoor Girls Track Coach
Supervisor: Head Coach & Athletic Director
Location: West Warwick High School
Position Summary:
Teach fundamentals and skills
Organize and run practice sessions
Teach rules and regulations
Display and teach good sportsmanship
Assist in maintaining, issuing and collecting of all equipment and supplies
Supervise players at all times
Notify the athletic director within 24 hours of any injury requiring medical attention
Comply with all Athletic Department, school and RI Interscholastic League Rules and Regulations / RIPCOA
Attend all coaches’ meetings, practices and contests.
Provide for eye care and prevention of athletic injuries
Communicates program expectations to student - athletes and parents
Establish and maintain consistent standards and behavior
Performance Responsibilities:
Knowledge in particular sport based upon experience as a participant and/or coach
Directly responsible to the athletic director in liaison with principal
Must meet RIIL/RIPCOA coaching certification and training requirements
Demonstrated ability in recognizing that the growth and development of each student -athlete requires meeting their individual needs.
Qualifications: Meet all RIIL Coaching Requirements and applicants must be 3 years removed from high school.
Preferred Qualifications: A combination of a few years of playing and coaching experience.
