Position Overview
West Volusia Family and Sports Medicine is actively seeking a qualified Phlebotomists to join our growing Primary Care office. We are currently hiring for part-time. Every other Saturdays are included. You will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic team focusing on Family and Sports Medicine.
General Duties
- Perform phlebotomy using proper technique and universal precautions
- Ensure lab specimens are sent to the appropriate laboratories
- Document patient care services using daily logs, patient records, and outside laboratory forms
- Comfort patients by anticipating anxieties, answering questions, and providing support
- Collect and organize blood, tissue, and other bodily fluid samples from patients
- Prepare samples for routine testing and analysis
- Properly record results for further analysis and easy reference
- Monitor inventory of samples and supplies
- Maintain a clean work environment
- Work under the supervision of a medical technologist
Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of phlebotomy experience
- Previous experience as a clinical technician or in a related field
- Familiarity with common medical terminology
- Experience in a laboratory setting
- Strong organizational skills
