What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant position at West Volusia Family and Sports Medicine, Inc.?
We are currently seeking a full-time and part-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to support our locations in DeLand and Orange City, Florida. This position offers a consistent Monday–Friday schedule, along with a rotating on-call schedule—with no weekend shifts required.
In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care across a wide range of needs. Working alongside a collaborative medical team and under physician supervision, you will:
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute, chronic, and episodic conditions
- Prescribe medications and recommend appropriate treatments
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history reviews and physical exams
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests
- Develop and implement individualized care plans
- Educate patients on preventive care, wellness, and long-term health management
- Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant clinical environment
- Active Florida license as a Physician Assistant or APRN
- Strong leadership skills with a positive, team-oriented mindset
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with patients
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical setting
- Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal
