What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nursing Director 2 position at West Virginia?
Plans and directs the work of a large nursing facility staff by ensuring an adequate and quality level of nursing care in which develops staffing patterns and satisfied customers. Coordinates resident services related to care with the whole nursing facility in accordance to state and federal regulations and within budgetary guidelines. Strategically monitors all functions of the nursing department to properly offer additional training and/or added support to fulfill the mission of resident care. This includes a separate unit designated for dementia residents. Coordinates and executes nursing services and monitors and evaluates the outcomes of nursing care. Oversees all RN's, LPN's and CNA's (state and agency). Ensures that all nursing staff are held accountable for the care they deliver to the residents in the nursing facility. Develop and/or revise nursing policy/procedures. Attends meetings such as quality assurance, admissions, care plans, safety, falls, department head, and any other meetings as requested by the administrator. Ability to coordinate nursing services with other departments such as activities, housekeeping, dietary, social services, and business office. Knowledge of state and federal regulations. Willingness to conduct clinical rounds on all nursing units, possible on different shifts. Promote, establish, and maintain customer relationships with residents, families, staff, community, and other professionals. Attends training within and outside of the facility will be required. Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing is a must. Ability to demonstrate leadership skills that promote team building, motivating others, conflict management/resolution and negotiation/problem solving will be required.
Located at the West Virginia Veterans Nursing FacilityTraining: Successful completion of an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university or a diploma nursing program and nine years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience as a registered professional nurse, including three years in an administrative capacity or in supervising other registered professional nurses.

Baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited four-year college or university and six years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience as a registered professional nurse, including two years in an administrative capacity or in supervising other registered professional nurses.

Master's degree in nursing or nursing administration or in public health or public health administration from an accredited four-year college or university and five years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience as a registered professional nurse, including one year in an administrative capacity or in supervising other registered professional nurses.

Baccalaureate degree in the health sciences or behavioral sciences from an accredited four-year college or university and seven years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience as a registered professional nurse, including one year in an administrative capacity or in supervising other registered professional nurses.
Special Requirement: Current West Virginia license or temporary permit to practice as a registered professional nurse.
