What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Assistant position at West Virginia?
Under close supervision, gathers, processes, and maintains payroll and payroll records, ensuring that accurate and timely payroll procedures are followed. Completes weekly reports. Assists Human Resources Manager with various duties such as contacting applicants, completing justifications, submitting postings, requesting registers, administering Correctional Officer testing, helping with interviews and new hire orientation, creating new hire interview and orientation packets and other various duties. This position attends recruiting events and covers for the HR Manager as needed. Follow all State and Federal rules and regulations pertaining to payroll and Human Resources. Comply with all departmental policies, institutional operating procedures, and American Correctional Association (ACA) standards in Human Resources/Payroll. May be required to travel for training opportunities and to work security post as part of regular duties and all other duties as assigned.Training: High school diploma or the equivalent.
Experience: Two (2) years of full-time or part-time equivalent paid clerical experience, one (1) year of which must have been in a support or paraprofessional role in human resources, payroll, bookkeeping or accounting.
Substitution: Candidates may substitute education for the required experience at the rate of one (1) year of experience for each thirty (30) semester hours of education.

Salary : $30,273 - $51,585
