WF240944 – Employment Programs Office Manager 3 – Kanawha


Exempt Position

At WorkForce, WV (WFWV), this position is in the Board of Review unit.  This position will oversee the daily operations of the Unemployment Compensation Board of Review.  Will be responsible for all general management-related tasks in the unit by delegating tasks to staff to meet Department of Labor deadlines.  Develops and implements office procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy. Provides written and oral reports to staff, judges and board members regarding issues, processes, and improvements. Overseas the performance of staff, approves leave, and other personnel actions. Manages the maintenance of office supplies and equipment, mail distribution, and cleanliness of office. Maintains and ensures the strict confidentiality of documents and records. Composes and responds to emails, prepares travel requests, and submits expense reports for travel, postage, etc. for all employees.  Trains employees in proper work methods and procedures. Greets visitors and directs to the appropriate staff. Answers telephones, screen calls, takes messages or direct calls to appropriate staff. Performs other related duties as assigned. Please note, this is an Exempt position and is not covered under the merit system administered by the West Virginia Division of Personnel.

Training: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Preference may be given to candidates with a bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, communications or marketing or any of the social sciences.
Substitution: Additional qualifying experience as described below may be substituted for the training on a year-for-year basis for the required training.
 
Experience: Four years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in a responsible professional or technical capacity in one or more of the following fields: public administration, industrial, personnel or business management, employment security, labor or industrial relations two years of which must have been in a responsible supervisory capacity.
Substitution: Master's degree in one of the above fields from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one year of the non-supervisory experience. Professional experience with the department in a local office involving duties associated with job development, interviewing, or placement may be substituted for the required supervisory experience on a year-for-year basis.

PG:  17     $40,457 - $74,845

Market Rate: $65,944
