Role Description The Environmental Resources Specialist 3 is a full-time, on-site position located in Charleston or Romney, WV. In this role, the specialist primarily prepares project reviews for orphaned abandoned well plugging contracts. Some limited field work may be involved. Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Environmental Science, with the ability to interpret technical data and apply scientific principles to environmental issues.
- Knowledge of Environmental Policy and regulatory frameworks, and ability to support permitting, enforcement, and program implementation.
- Effective Communication skills, including clear written reporting, technical documentation, and professional interaction with diverse stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, natural resources, or a related field; advanced education or professional certifications are a plus.
- Experience in environmental inspections, monitoring, or regulatory programs.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple assignments.
- Proficiency with common office software and basic data analysis tools; GIS experience is beneficial.
- Ability to work on-site, travel as needed within the state, and perform limited field work.
