WV Guidepost to Graduation Interventionist
Up to 100 days total during the 2025-2026 school year, as needed. $250 per day, pending certification

Job Summary:
1. Provide assistance to identified at-risk students.
2. Improve graduation rates by developing, planning, and implementing strategies with at-risk students to keep them on track for high school graduation
3. Identify and resolve barriers to graduation
4. Collaborate with school personnel, the CIS Coordinator, and outside agencies as necessary to help ensure students graduate and/or to facilitate post-secondary plans
5. Create and maintain relationships necessary to ensure the students’ success
6. Create and maintain a professional relationship with school administrators, faculty, staff, outside agencies, and the CIS Coordinator
7. Develop and implement intervention strategies based on the individual needs of each student.
8. Assist each student in creating a plan of success, including short and long term goals necessary to meet the academic requirements of the plan
9. Schedule regular meetings with students (and family as necessary) to review goals and make adjustments to the plan
10. Develop partnerships with community members/organizations to support the goals of students’ graduation plans
11. Create and maintain a data base of identified students and their family
12. Create and maintain a log of daily work with identified students and their family
13. Submit all reports in an efficient and timely manner
14. To perform other duties as assigned by the Principal, Special Education Director, or Superintendent

Qualifications:
1. A valid West Virginia Teaching Certificate
2. Demonstrates qualifications further detailed in job description
3. Minimum of five years of teaching experience preferred
4. Preference given to certification in administration and/or counseling
5. Experience working with at-risk students
6. Knowledge of special education policies and lay, i.e., IDEA, IEPs, etc.
7. Ability to work collaboratively
8. Ability to develop, implement and track intervention plans and strategies
9. Ability to analyze and interpret appropriate data
10. Basic knowledge and understanding of technology to effectively use computer programs such as Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. as necessary
11.Valid driver’s license
12. Reliable transportation and willingness to travel
