Substitute School Nurse

Qualifications:

• West Virginia Professional Student Support Certificate, West Virginia Nurse Certificate or Temporary Nurse Certificate, or West Virginia Nursing Substitute Permit
  • West Virginia Nursing Substitute Permit Requires:
    • A minimum Associate's Degree in nursing with a minimum 2.0 GPA
    • Holding a valid Registered Nurse (RN) licensure issued by the West Virginia Board of Examiners
    • Completion of the eLearining course: "Introduction to School Nursing"
• Complete all required county and WVDE trainings
• The ability to perform the job duties and responsibilities as contained in the Job Description, with or without reasonable accommodations
• Additional Minimum Requirements:
  • Applicants who have recent unsatisfactory evaluations will not be eligible for consideration.
  • Applicants who demonstrate unsatisfactory interview performance are not eligible for consideration.
  • Applicants who receive unfavorable reference recommendations are not eligible for consideration.
  • Applicants who have been dismissed or who have had their contracts non-renewed for cause are not eligible for consideration.

Salary based on the 2025-2026 salary scale - commensurate with experience and education.
