- Director of Technology/Testing Coordinator
- This position will be filled with the most qualified applicant pursuant to the criteria set forth in WV State Code, based upon the following minimum qualifications:
- Must hold a Master’s degree in Technology or a related field.
- Administrative degree preferred
- Hold valid teaching certificate pursuant to WV Code 18A-3-2;
- Criminal background check conducted pursuant to WV Code 18-5-15c and/or 18A-3-10, as appropriate;
- Must pass a drug screening
- Meet the qualifications outlined in WV Code 18A-3-2a and 18A-2-9;
- Have at least three (3) years of teaching experience and three (3) years of experience in the area of technology in an educational organization
- Provides administrative leadership and supervision in regard to development,
implementation, and monitoring technology and assessment in Monroe County Schools. - Collaborate with principals and technology staff to support their use of technology in delivery of curricula through a variety of instructional methods
- work with schools toward integrating and delivering instruction through use of hardware and software
- Support and assist teachers in meeting state and national standards for subject area and technology learning objectives
- Prepare technology budget for computer resources, including hardware, software, learning resources, and training needs
- Recommend and purchase hardware, software, and related resources needed for the implementation of the county and school technology plans
- Review, evaluate, and complete technology purchases for WVDE initiatives and through funding sources
- Review and evaluate all new technology equipment as it is developed and make recommendations to the Superintendent regarding purchases
- Assist teachers and staff in securing WVDE email accounts
- Supervise and direct the Technology Systems Specialist
- Develop and implement a County Technology Plan, and evaluate on an annual basis
- Coordinate and preform any technology to be repaired
- Maintaining and monitoring network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and reliability
- Implementing and managing network filtering protocols to safeguard against unauthorized access and malicious activities
- Ensuring cyber safety by conducting regular security assessments, identifying vulnerabilities, and deploying appropriate countermeasures
- Make sure all students receive cyber safety training in accordance with CIPA requirements
- Attend workshops and conferences related to technology and testing
- Assure technology inventory is in place at each school
- Monitor, develop, and maintain the district/school websites
- Administrator of County LMS and Identity Platform for classroom learning
- Oversee online form system
- Ensure the security and stability of IT systems, overseeing system setup, operations, and data security protocols.
- Maintain the county phone systems
- Maintain the county keyless entry systems
- Write all necessary grants/programs in order to implement the county and school technology plans
- File all forms for the Federal E-rate Program with the USAC and see that all program requirements are met
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent
- Responsible for technology Staff Development for employees
- Assist with training for the administration of all assessments related to WV Measure of Academic Progress
- Attend state-wide meetings/trainings for test coordinators
- Ensure that all equipment used for testing online is working order for testing
- Maintain inventory of student sign-on and passwords for online testing
- Train staff and disseminate testing information]
- Responsible for implementation of WVGSA, WVASA, School Day SAT, PSAT 8/9, 10, NMSQT 11
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to reach, stand, walk, lift, grasp, write, talk, hear, see, use technology such as computers and multimedia equipment, and use repetitive motions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may frequently lift and/or move at least 10 pounds of materials. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as to read handwritten or typed material, the ability to adjust focus. The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff members
- 2025-2026 School Year
- $68,552.40 Base Rate with a Master’s Degree and directors supplement, 240 Days
- Salary based on experience and education level per Monroe County BOE salary schedule, plus competitive benefits package equal to approximately 35% of direct compensation.
