- Provide instruction in track and field techniques, skills, and strategies.
- Supervise student-athletes during practices, competitions, travel, and team activities.
- Assist with athlete development, motivation, and team discipline.
- Support the Head Coach in game/meet preparation and event assignments.
- Ensure student-athlete safety and enforce all safety rules and procedures.
- Assist with equipment inventory, care, and storage.
- Promote sportsmanship and positive conduct among student-athletes.
- Communicate effectively with coaches, athletes, parents, and school administration.
- Comply with all school policies, county procedures, and WVSSAC rules.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Athletic Director.
- High school diploma required; college coursework or degree preferred.
- Experience in track and field or related coaching experience preferred.
- Knowledge of track and field rules, techniques, and training methods.
- Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and parents.
- Must meet all county and WVSSAC coaching requirements, including background checks and required training.
- Seasonal position during the track and field season.
- Practices and competitions may occur after school, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Stipend or supplemental pay in accordance with the county salary schedule.
