West Valley Cleanup Alliance is the prime contractor selected by the U.S. Department of Energy to manage the Phase 1B Deactivation & Demolition Contract at the West Valley Demonstration Project site. The site is a scenic 30-minute drive south of Buffalo, New York. In cooperation with the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority, West Valley Demonstration Project continues to decontaminate and decommission facilities at this site.

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE OF POSITION
The IT Support Technician II provides general administrative and technical support for the Information Technology Department by interfacing with end users on hardware, software, and network-related issues and providing follow-up through problem resolution.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate degree in computer science preferred
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Licenses/Certifications:
- Certificates in an information technology field are a plus
Other Requirements:
- Relevant experience in a help desk or IT support role preferred

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/SCOPE OF WORK
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following established safety practices and procedures
- Adhere to Company Code of Conduct, EEO practices, and DOE directives
- Receive and screen help desk calls
- Create, triage, and assign incoming help desk tickets
- Monitor aged tickets and coordinate resolution with IT Analysts
- Install, configure, test, and troubleshoot computer hardware, software, and networks
- Maintain inventory of hardware, software, and peripheral equipment
- Provide prompt and professional customer service
- Assist users via phone, in person, and remotely
- Remain current on emerging technologies and tools
- Regular attendance is required
- Contribute to team efforts as needed
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to manage, organize, and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment
