Assist with physical planning operation, repair and maintenance of machinery, equipment, pool, facilities, and custodial duties. Position requires a flexible schedule including morning, evenings, weekends, and holidays and an on-call rotation
- Starting Pay: $22.93 - $31.53 , depending on experience
- Schedule: Tuesday- Saturday (mornings/ afternoons, on call rotations including weekends, holidays, and special events)
- FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Ensure a safe, clean environment that is well maintained for patrons and staff members.
- Inspect and ensure all equipment and facility areas are cleaned and maintained regularly for proper, safe, and efficient operations.
- Perform regular preventative maintenance. Promote safe and effective maintenance practices.
- Assist the custodial staff with detailed cleaning and the Parks Department with repairs and maintenance.
- Perform field maintenance and preparation if needed.
- Perform remodeling and restorative maintenance.
- Perform routine and interval levels of building and equipment maintenance.
- Assist with accurate departmental and equipment records.
- Assist with compliance with the Energy Management program and OSHA programs.
- Maintain good communication with all personnel to determine maintenance needs and priorities.
- Assist with inventory of equipment and records information.
- Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- None
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of general maintenance functions including plumbing, roofing, remodeling, electrical, HVAC, and flooring.
- Basic mechanical skills.
- Knowledge of workshop techniques and safety practices.
- Working knowledge of repair and maintenance for treadmills, cross trainers, bicycles, weightlifting equipment, etc.
- General knowledge of janitorial chemicals and uses.
- Must be able to operate power equipment.
- Good communication and human relations abilities.
- Must possess a valid Utah Driver License or ability to obtain one.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Graduation from a standard senior high school or GED equivalent.
- Six months’ general maintenance experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Must be proficient in English.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, sit and walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Frequently required to climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision and peripheral vision.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; and high, precarious places. Also exposed to various chemicals. The noise level in the workplace is usually moderate.
