Job Overview

West Vail Liquor Mart is seeking a motivated, experienced, and dependable Store Manager to join our team and oversee store operations during your shifts. This is a full-time, year-round position in a fast-paced retail environment. The typical schedule consists of four 9-10 hour shifts per week (or five 8 hour shifts), primarily working the 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM shift. As a store manager it is expected to maintain some flexibility in your schedule to adjust work hours as needed to ensure effective store operations and team coverage.

This Manager is responsible for the store operations during your shifts, including staff management, customer service, inventory management, merchandising, cash management, and operational excellence. Working closely with the General Manager and ownership, this position plays a critical role in driving sales, developing employees, ensuring exceptional customer experience, as well as fostering a positive, accountable workplace culture.

Responsibilities

Store Leadership & Team Management

• Lead, motivate, train, and develop store employees
• Supervise staff and ensure productivity, accountability, and excellent customer service standards
• Foster positive working relationships with customers, employees, vendors, and ownership

Store Operations

• Oversee daily store operations and ensure smooth execution of all functions
• Perform and manage opening and closing procedures
• Perform register reconciliations and cash handling procedures
• Operate and oversee point-of-sale (POS) systems and delivery procedures
• Responsible for managing the merchandising the store including receipt of product deliveries, display, shelf and cooler re-stocking
• Respond to operational issues, emergencies, and customer concerns
• Ensure compliance with all company policies and Colorado liquor regulations
• Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and well-stocked store environment
• Deliver exceptional customer service and product recommendations
• Resolve customer concerns professionally and effectively
• Gain / Maintain extensive knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits

Qualifications

The ideal candidate is a reliable, dependable, organized, and self-motivated leader with strong retail management experience and a passion for customer service. We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their responsibilities, leads by example, communicates effectively, and can independently manage daily store operations while building a positive team culture.

• Must be 21 years old
• Previous retail management experience preferred
• Strong leadership and management of staff
• Initiative – the ability to begin and follow through the completion of a variety of tasks.
• Dependability – the ability and willingness to show trustworthiness and be relied upon to perform job requirements in a positive manner.
• Productivity – consistently shows the ability to be productive in completing tasks timely, efficiently and accurately.
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
• Experience with retail point-of-sale systems
• Knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits preferred
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to lift at least 20 pounds repeatedly throughout a shift
• Clean driving record preferred

The Store Manager reports directly to the general manager and ownership and is responsible for overseeing store employees and daily operations.
