What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Digital Experience and Engagement position at West United Methodist Church?
Director of Digital Experience & Engagement
West Church Lake Norman | Mooresville, NC
Part-Time | Approximately 50 Hours per Month
About West
There’s a reason a lot of people won’t walk into a church.
We know that.
We’ve built West with that in mind.
We meet in a high school.
We don’t expect people to have it all together.
We don’t do “churchy” for the sake of it.
We’re trying to create something real—for people who are skeptical, curious, burned out on religion, or just not sure what they believe anymore.
What This Role Actually Is
This is not a “run the slides and post the sermon” job.
This is a part-time creative leadership role (approximately 50 hours per month) focused on how people experience West—both in the room and online.
People experience church long before they ever show up.
Attention is earned, not assumed.
Digital is not secondary—it is central to how we reach people.
This role is designed to help West expand its reach, tell better stories, and create meaningful experiences that connect with people beyond Sunday.
