Asphalt Distributor Operator Overview
- Operate asphalt distributor truck on roadway construction projects
- Work is local to the Lubbock area
- This is dirty work involving asphalt oil, grease, dust, heat, and outdoor conditions
Asphalt Distributor Operator Duties
- Operate distributor truck to spray asphalt oil on road surfaces
- Connect hoses, spray bars, nozzles, and other distributor equipment
- Clean spray bars, nozzles, hoses, and truck after use
- Handle hot asphalt oil and work around hot paving materials
- Inspect truck and distributor system for maintenance and repairs
- Notify management of any equipment or safety issues
- Operate truck safely and follow all company and DOT requirements
Asphalt Distributor Operator Required Skills and Qualifications
- Valid CDL (required)
- HAZ-MAT and tanker endorsements (required)
- Willing to perform dirty, physical work around hot asphalt oil and tar
- Physically fit and able to lift 50 lbs
- Basic mechanical skills
- Conscientious and safety-oriented attitude
- Able to work outdoors in heat, wind, dust, and changing weather
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $31.00 per hour
