Position Overview:
The housekeeping supervisor oversees daily operations to ensure cleanliness and orderliness in a facility by managing housekeeping staff, assigning tasks, inspecting work, and maintaining supplies. Key duties include training staff, handling guest requests, coordinating with other departments like maintenance, and managing inventory and budgets. Supervise and coordinate daily operations to maintain exceptional facility cleanliness.
- Hire, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate the performance of all Housekeeping staff.
- Orient new staff and provide ongoing training on proper cleaning techniques, chemical usage, safety procedures (including OSHA/MSDS), and infection control protocols.
- Develop, implement, and maintain daily and deep-cleaning schedules for all areas, including resident rooms, common areas, dining rooms, clinical spaces, and administrative offices.
- Conduct regular inspections of all areas to ensure cleanliness and sanitation standards are consistently met. Provide coaching and progressive discipline as needed.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required. Additional related training or certification
- is a plus.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of supervisory experience in a housekeeping or environmental services role, preferably in a healthcare, hospital, or skilled nursing facility setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of infection control practices and sanitation procedures
- specific to a long-term care environment.
