Job Description Summary:
Responsible for layout, design, development of carts for new clinical areas and handling routine requests for inventory change from nursing for supply par carts. This position is responsible for special lean process projects, process automation, inventory management and training materials management software to Central Supply Staff. The position requires one eight hour shift five days per week. Employee is subject to call back and overtime as required by the hospital. Schedule is subject to change as required.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Monitors damaged equipment, returns to vendor for repairs when required and keeps accurate records of all repairs.
- Monitors and maintains inventory order points on all inventory items that are stocked in storeroom.
- Monitors expiration dates on inventory items. Investigates inventory discrepancies.
- Responsible for cycle counting of inventory items daily.
- Coordinates requests from nursing directors for inventory changes to Supply Par Carts.
- This also includes building and layout of Supply Par Carts for new clinical areas or special projects.
- Monitors Back Orders and expedites subs by working with sales representatives and individual hospital departments.
- Coordinates price changes with Material Management Buyers.
- Member of Inventory Audit and Cycle Count Team.
- Coordinates Material's Management Lean Processes and process standardization of Central Services areas of inventory management responsibilities.
- Backup to Charge System Analyst/Critical Procedure Cart Position.
- Shift Leader and alternates weekends. (Leader of approximately 5-6 employees).
- Maintains accurate files of special projects (Change Requests, Labeling, Bar Coding).
- Assists with invoice discrepancies.
- Contributes to the positive work environment and team effort.
- Performs related responsibilities as required or directed.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
- Language and logical skills in the technical field of computer software and equipment in addition to secretarial skills as normally acquired through 2 years of college or 2 years of equivalent experience.
LICENSURE, REGISTRATION, CERTIFICATION:
- N/A
EXPERIENCE:
- Knowledge of hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Ability to supervise and lead people.
- Knowledge of inventory control as acquired through 2-4 years in hospital materials management.
