What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sheetmetal Technician position at West Star Aviation?
This position requires a basic knowledge of aircraft structures, fastening systems, procedures, and techniques. Will work closely with Lead Technicians to organize manpower and set priorities for involved projects. Must be competent at working from drawings, blueprints, and written instructions. Job duties will vary each day and are designated by the Team Leader in charge of the project. May be required to work independently or lead small projects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Attendance.
Perform involved, extensive, and precise sheet metal functions on the airframe and associated components.
Maintain quality control on all aspects of assigned projects.
Supervise, instruct and train assigned crew members.
Coordinate with other crews working on aircraft to minimize interference and ensure smooth workflow.
Provide input to and cooperate with Engineering and Quality Assurance in development and documentation of modifications and repairs.
Address minor disciplinary issues and problem resolutions.
Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

The majority of work will be accomplished in a heated hangar.

Extensive use of tall ladders and elevated work stands may be required.
