What you can expect as a Machine Shop Technician at DAS Aviation:
Our machinist’s program, run and monitor computer-numeric-controlled machines, which are used to make metal tools and parts. They ensure that the machines are operating correctly and that pieces are cut to perfection. They also perform maintenance on the machines and replace dull or aged parts as necessary. A Machine Shop Technician performs all the essential duties of machining a wide variety of part/components, from multiple materials. Ensure tolerances are met per individual job order.
You will be ESSENTIAL to many FUNCTIONS including:
- Reviews job/production orders and interprets accompanying prints and drawings to determine job requirements.
- Checks for accuracy of information and identifies any discrepancies or special needs.
- Selects and/or verifies materials, processes and equipment required to perform assigned jobs.
- Sets up machines to perform required operations.
- Prepares and cleans product surfaces, as necessary, for desired operation.
- Operates machines for fabricating various components and structures.
- Monitors machine performance and output during production to ensure proper results.
- Cleans and maintains work area (daily), fabricating equipment and other tools of the trade.
- Ensures quality and safety procedures are observed at all times.
- Effectively and clearly communicate (i.e., speak, write, read) in English
Qualifications:
What you’ll need to bring with you:
Your Education
A High school diploma or equivalent required.
A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal, but not mandatory.
Your Experience
4 years of experience in a machine shop or part 145 repair station is highly preferred.
Proficient in reading machine dial gauges, blueprints and precision measuring instruments.
Your Initiative:

Your Sense of Responsibility:
Attend work every day as scheduled to include overtime and weekend assignments.
Notify supervisor in advance of shift starting if unable to work.
You must have reliable transportation to get to work each day.
Must perform all work in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines.
Follow all company and safety rules during performance of duties.
Maintain customer-oriented work habits.
Completion of work orders, FAA paperwork.
