Special Education Paraprofessional (1:1)

Special Education Paraprofessional - 1:1Coburn Elementary Coburn Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Paraprofessional to provide individualized support to a student with unique learning and/or behavioral needs. The successful candidate will work closely with the classroom teacher and related service providers to reinforce instruction, encourage independence, and foster a safe, supportive learning environment.Duties and Responsibilities: -Provide direct support to an assigned student to reinforce learning of materials and skills introduced by the teacher.-Assist the teacher in implementing individualized strategies tailored to the students specific needs, interests, and abilities.-Establish and maintain a positive, supportive, and respectful relationship with the student to promote social, emotional, and academic growth.-Support the student during transitions, emergency drills, assemblies, play periods, field trips, and other school-related activities.-Assist with lunch, snack, toileting, and clean-up routines as needed.-Monitor and support the student during playground, cafeteria, bus loading/unloading, and other non-classroom settings.-Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and administrators to support the students Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and accommodations.-Participate in professional development and in-service training programs.-Perform other duties as assigned by the classroom teacher, building administration, or Superintendent of Schools.Qualifications: - Associates Degree or 48 college credits attained or Workkeys, Associate degree preferred.- Citizenship, residency or work visa required.- Demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed- Familiarity with some data collection is preferred.- Ability to work with young, active children in the classroom, on the playground, and in the gym during gross motor movement.Salary: Per Unit D Contract (salary range: $18.67/hr-$23.96/hr)
