Responsibilities
- Perform pet grooming services including bathing, brushing, hair trimming, styling, and pet coat maintenance with precision and care
- Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques to ensure their comfort and security during grooming procedures
- Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand grooming preferences and provide expert advice on pet coat styling and maintenance
- Maintain a clean and organized grooming room, ensuring all tools and equipment are sanitized and well-maintained
- Assist with pet care routines such as nail trimming, ear cleaning, and basic veterinary-related tasks when needed
- Exercise patience and gentle handling during grooming sessions, especially with animals requiring special care or training
- Support kennel or pet sitting duties as required, including heavy lifting of animals or supplies to ensure safety for both pets and staff
Qualifications
- Prior experience in pet grooming is required; certifications in pet grooming or animal care are a plus
- Knowledge of dog training techniques, veterinary experience, or veterinary technician/assistant background is advantageous
- Strong dog handling skills with the ability to manage various breeds and temperaments confidently
- Familiarity with animal restraint methods, pet nail trimming, and general animal care practices
- Excellent communication skills to engage with pet owners professionally and empathetically
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as heavy lifting and standing for extended periods of time
- Experience with kennel management or pet sitting is beneficial but not mandatory
