Our well-established Oral and Maxillofacial surgery practice, serving Port Orchard and Bainbridge Island, is seeking a full time Dental Assistant to join our team. Position Summary:
As a Dental Assistant in our oral surgery office, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional care to ourt patients. You will assist the oral surgeon during procedures, ensure the surgical environment is sterile and organized, and provide compassionate support to patients before, during, and after their procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies.
- Assist the oral surgeon during procedures, including extractions, implants, and sedation cases.
- Take and develop digital X-rays as needed.
- Provide pre- and post-operative instructions to patients and their caregivers.
- Maintain a clean, sterile, and organized clinical environment.
- Ensure accurate charting and documentation using electronic health records (EHR).
- Monitor and support patients under local anesthesia or sedation.
- Respond to patient needs and concerns with professionalism and empathy.
- Work collaboratively with our clinical and front office teams.
Qualifications:
- Required: Dental Assistant Certification
- Previous experience in oral surgery or a surgical dental setting is preferred but not required; we are willing to train the right candidate.
- CPR/BLS/ACLS certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong communication and patient care skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented and fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
- Knowledge of sterilization protocols and dental instruments.
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and professional.
- Willingness to work between Port Orchard and Bainbridge Island locations.
