What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodian III (High School daytime) - Natatorium position at West Shore School District?
The Custodian III position at the Natatorium at Red Land High School is available. It is a Level 3, 8 hours per day, 249 days per year position. Work hours are first shift, 6:30 am to 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with altered hours and extra time as needed and approved. Minimum pay rate is $17.75 per hour.
Must possess a high school diploma and Class C driver's license with no repeated motor vehicle violations for the previous three years. Must be able to perform routine tasks without direct supervision.
As the Custodian III-High School, you will primarily be based at the Red Land High School indoor pool in Lewisberry. You are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the pool during school hours. You make sure the pool area is clean and well-maintained. You launder and fold towels and swimsuits for the students. This position requires you to work in an environment in which pool chemicals are in use, and where the environment is often hot and humid. When not needed in the pool area, you work with your department peers to ensure areas like classrooms, restrooms, hallways, and common spaces are clean and well-maintained. You will communicate regularly with school administrators and office staff to prioritize tasks and support school events. You perform regular inspections to identify maintenance issues or safety hazards. You may handle minor repairs yourself or coordinate with maintenance staff for more complex problems. Throughout the day, you respond to immediate custodial needs, such as spills or urgent clean-ups. You ensure that all custodial supplies are stocked and equipment is in good working condition. In this role, you help create a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. Opportunities exist for additional weekly hours to cover after-school activities and events. This job is for a positive and productive person who will be working around students and adults alike.
Knowledge and ability to perform job function: Maintains assigned area in highest state of repair and cleanliness for the success of our students. Ability to perform light building maintenance such as lamp and ballast replacement. Perform general cleaning duties and operate custodial cleaning equipment. Complete special event setups and teardowns. Ability to work outside to perform landscaping and athletic field preparations. Operate lawnmower, snow blower, string trimmer, auto scrubber and other common hand tools. Able to occasionally lift 80 pounds and occasionally work at heights of 30 feet.
