Play a key role in keeping our center operating smoothly. The Classroom Support staff member is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy environment for children, staff, and families along with meal service, assisting in the classroom, and shopping. This is a full-time position offering comprehensive benefits with a supportive team environment.

Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
Details for Support Services Opening in New Salem
- Pay is $17.00/hour
- 40 hours per week.
- 9-month position from mid-August to mid-May. If interested, summer hours may be available through HIT, Inc.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. (No visa sponsorships considered).
- Classroom Days: Children attend on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday.
- Prep/Training Day: Wednesdays are dedicated to preparation and professional development.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Adhere to all principles of confidentiality.
- Clean Head Start areas and bus.
- Maintain playgrounds – i.e. snow and ice removal, mow, sweep sidewalks, pick up trash, etc.
- Prepare and cleanup for meals and snacks.
- Assist in the classroom.
- Grocery shopping.
- Report bus mileage.
- Submit maintenance request for facility maintenance and bus upkeep.
- Attend Safety and Sanitation training.
- Successfully complete CPR and First Aid
- Drive bus routes, when applicable.
- Regularly required to walk up/down stairs (classroom is in the church basement); stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or sit on the floor while interacting with the students. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
