What does a Service Manager do at West River Equipment?
At WRE, a service manager is a leader who will do a lot of things. Multi-tasking, problem solving and leading an organization of technicians will never leave you bored. Every day is different!!
Goal of the role - Oversee a team of service technicians and drive the profitability, efficiency and safe operations of our service department. We want our customers to be raving fans, our technicians to grow/make it home safe and our leadership team to perpetually grow.
Among other things, as a service manager, you’re trusted to:
- Oversee the day-to-day management of a number of service technicians.
- Assign jobs to service technicians according to their skills and knowledge.
- Manage the work order process.
- Follow and understand our manufacturer partner’s guidelines, processes and expectations.
- Manage customer relationships by seeking feedback, anticipating problems and responding. Have the skills to help define and solve the challenge to customer satisfaction.
- Respond to team member issues and concerns.
- Review and process all repair work orders for accuracy and completeness — focusing on parts, materials and labor.
- Approve the release of equipment for delivery to the customer when ready.
- Ensure appropriate communications throughout the store by conducting regular team meetings, encouraging an open-door policy and proactively seeking feedback from team members.
- Lead and manage all activities related to ensuring the customer experience is positive.
- Spend time in the shop, help your team, analyze and sign off on work orders (making sure the time and parts listed are correct) or attend meetings with other store members.
