Overview: A Foundry Core Maker is responsible for creating cores used in the casting process within a foundry. Cores are essential components that form internal cavities and shapes in cast metal products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate core-making equipment, such as core shooters, mixers, and core ovens.
- Prepare core sand mixtures by blending sand with various binders and additives, ensuring the proper consistency for molding.
- Create cores by molding sand mixtures into the desired shapes using core boxes or other molding equipment.
- Assemble cores accurately, paying attention to details to meet design specifications.
Quality Control:
- Conduct quality checks on finished cores to verify dimensions, surface finish, and overall integrity.
- Address any defects or deviations and make adjustments to the core-making process to meet quality standards.
Collaboration:
- Coordinate with other foundry personnel, including pattern makers, molders, and metallurgists, to achieve optimal casting results.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to address any issues and contribute to process improvement.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Familiarity with various core-making equipment and processes.

Physical Requirements:
