Position Overview
The Executive Director (ED) serves as the chief relationship builder, growth leader, and strategic operator of the chamber. This role is externally focused and works closely with the Board of Directors and administrative support staff to advance membership value, sponsorship growth, and community presence.
This is an ideal role for a leader who excels in people, partnerships, and momentum and understands how to work collaboratively with operational support to ensure strong execution.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Serve as the primary representative and ambassador of the chamber
- Partner with the Board of Directors to execute strategic priorities
- Translate board vision into actionable annual goals and initiatives
- Maintain strong relationships with community leaders, partners, and stakeholders
- Manages and leads Jr staff
Membership Growth & Engagement
- Lead membership engagement, retention, and relationship management
- Cultivate new member and sponsor relationships
- Proactively engage members to achieve established retention goals
Revenue & Sponsorship Development
- Own overall revenue strategy (membership, sponsorships, events, programs)
- Lead high-value sponsorship and partnership conversations
- Support pricing strategy for events and programs
- Monitor revenue performance and trends with administrative and board support
Events & Programming (Strategic Oversight)
- Determine event mix, cadence, and objectives
- Set pricing and sponsorship structure
- Evaluate event success and ROI
- Serve as host and relationship leader at key events
Governance & Accountability
- Serve as liaison between staff and the Board of Directors
- Support board and committee operations
- Ensure compliance with bylaws, contracts, and risk management practices
- Maintain transparency and communication with the board

- Strong relationship builder with high emotional intelligence

- Experienced communicator and connector
- Growth-oriented and opportunity-focused
- Able to lead strategy while partnering with operational support
- Experience in chambers, nonprofits, economic development, sales, or community leadership preferred
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
- Experience in leading teams
- Basic familiarity with or ability to learn all chamber systems
- Requires irregular work hours, a valid driver’s license and personal vehicle.
