Do you have a passion for tools and want to give back to the community?
Apply to our organization as a tool librarian! The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of tools, be able to answer questions regarding home DIY projects, and love customer service. This role is essential to our mission, which is to provide equitable and affordable access to tools and skills to everyone in the community.
Responsibilities
- Full compliance with WPTL safety protocols - ensuring all staff and students remain safe on-site and develop safety-first habits. Safety is the first priority at WPTL.
- Assist members with checking in/checking out borrowed tools and ensuring all items are safe to operate and undamaged when coming in and before going out.
- Help new community members sign up for memberships and classes.
- Assist teachers when attendance/handouts are required.
- Process digital and cash payments for memberships, donations, late fees, and class tickets.
- Minimum availability for one (1) three hour shift per week, which is scheduled a month in advance.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with members, students, and staff
- Prior experience in retail/cash drawer management
- Passion for giving back to the local community and promoting the share economy - sharing tools and skills is the basis of what we do!
