Role Description The Preschool Teacher is a full-time, on-site role based in Sidney, OH. This role is responsible for planning and delivering developmentally appropriate lessons that support the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth of preschool-age children. Daily tasks include creating and implementing curriculum, maintaining a safe and engaging classroom environment, observing and documenting child progress, and collaborating with teaching staff to meet program goals. The Preschool Teacher communicates regularly with families, encourages parental involvement, and supports children’s transition to kindergarten. Additional responsibilities include adhering to program policies and regulations, participating in professional development, and contributing to a positive, inclusive learning setting.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Early Childhood Education, including developmentally appropriate practices for preschool-age children and familiarity with Kindergarten readiness expectations.
- Ability to design and implement Lesson Planning and Curriculum Development that align with program standards and support diverse learning needs.
- Effective Communication skills for engaging with children, families, colleagues, and community partners in a clear, respectful, and culturally responsive manner.
- Relevant education such as an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (or equivalent coursework and experience).
- Experience working in a preschool or early learning setting, with knowledge of classroom management, child safety, and family engagement best practices.
- Ability to pass required background checks and meet licensing or Head Start program requirements, including health and safety standards.
