What are the responsibilities and job description for the Licensed Student-Assigned Nurse position at West Morris Central?
LICENSED STUDENT-ASSIGNED NURSE
(Part Time: 10-20 hours/week)
(hourly rate to be determined)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. To provide direct medical supervision during classroom and other school activities, and/or transportation to and/or from school to medically fragile student(s) as indicated in the student’s individualized medical and emergency medical plan.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Valid New Jersey Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license or Registered Nurse (RN) license.
2. Demonstrated expertise in school health nursing practice and emergency procedures.
3. Knowledge of child growth and development, community and family dynamics, current health issues and wellness education.
4. Knowledge of community health and social services resources and ability to communicate effectively with non-school health professionals and social service agencies.
