West Morning Star Care Home is a licensed Residential Facility for Groups located in Las Vegas, NV. We provide 24-hour care and support to adults who may have cognitive, physical, or behavioral challenges. Our goal is to create a safe, supportive, and respectful home environment where individuals can thrive and maintain independence to the greatest extent possible.
Position Summary:
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a vital role in supporting residents with daily living activities, personal care, medication assistance, and community engagement. This position requires compassion, reliability, and a commitment to maintaining the dignity and well-being of each resident.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide hands-on support with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility
- Assist residents with meal preparation, feeding, and maintaining a clean living environment
- Administer medications and document according to facility protocols (if certified)
- Promote social and recreational activities in the home and community
- Monitor residents' physical and emotional well-being and report any concerns or incidents to the Administrator
- Maintain accurate documentation and daily logs in compliance with NAC/NRS 449 and facility policies
- Uphold residents’ rights, respect personal boundaries, and ensure safety at all times
- Assist with transportation to medical appointments or community outings (if applicable)
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience working in group homes, assisted living, or caregiving preferred
- Must be at least 18 years old
- CPR/First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain)
- Medication Administration certification (if providing meds)
- Able to pass background check, TB test, and drug screening
- Reliable transportation and punctuality are required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 35 per week
