What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate/Van Driver position at West Monona High/Middle School?
West Monona CSD is looking for a driver/associate to drive students to and from Mondamin each morning, the remainder of the day would be finished out as a classroom associate in Mondamin.
This is an hourly 10-month position; hours are approximately a 7.5-hour day with the driving schedule starting at 8:00 am on in session school days. Transportation provided by West Monona CSD.
Job Goal: Transporting students to West Harrison school in Mondamin to class and supporting the special education teacher to provide appropriate instruction and supervision of assigned students.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Valid Driver’s license, must be at least 23 years old to drive
- Ability to obtain passenger endorsement and DOT physical
- Experience working with children in a group situation
- Ability to be flexible, patient, and calm in sometimes stressful situations
- Computer literacy
Responsibilities:
- Provide instruction and supervision to students under the direction of the teacher.
- Supervise students in the vehicle while being transported, lunchroom, media center, and the classroom.
- Do clerical work and filing under the supervisor’s direction.
- Assist students with health and hygiene needs.
- Assist students with behavioral needs as directed by the teacher and principal.
- All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
