Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Paraprofessional to support students in a nurturing and educational environment. The role involves assisting in students in organizational skills, good study habits, increased learning, accountability and motivation.
Duties:
- Complete weekly progress and metric reports.
- Conduct two way communication with students.
- Have great communication skills, be personable and willing to form school based relationships with students, staff and parents
- Assist the teachers when they are engaging with students both in person and virtually.
- Have multiple conversations with students each week encouraging the students to stay on task.
- Help support student academic behavior plans and help support academic interventions.
- Assist teachers and center directors with student enrollment.
- Assist with student orientations.
- Be an active participant in all professional development sessions and in-service learning opportunities and objectives.
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Experience:
The ideal candidate should possess:
- Experience working with at risk and accelerated students
- Knowledge of student development principles
- Familiarity with center supervision techniques
- Background in education, social work, criminal justice or related fields
- Ability to educate and engage students in various studying techniques
- Experience working with individuals with mental health issues, behavior issues, and academic challenges
