What You’ll Do 

You will lead a small HR team — an HR generalist/payroll specialist, an engagement coordinator, and a part-time office admin — and you will own the following:  

• Coach and develop Regional and Account Managers so they handle people situations confidently and correctly 
• Own and advance WMJ’s training and development programs — Pathway to Promotion, Going Pro, Dream Manager, and more 
• Lead recruitment efforts 
• Ensure every new team member experiences a first week that makes them feel like they made the right call 
• Manage compliance across the full HR spectrum — ACA, OSHA, EEO-1, FMLA, unemployment, workers’ comp, I-9, criminal background checks 
• Manage benefits administration in partnership with our broker (TriCoast) 
• Set the standard for recruiting across WMJ as the company moves toward decentralized hiring 
• Think about what this function should look like in two years and bring that thinking to leadership 

Required Qualifications 

• 3 years leading an HR function, ideally in a high-volume, multi-site environment 
• Solid HR compliance competence: ACA, OSHA, EEO-1, FMLA, workers’ comp, unemployment, I-9 
• Benefits administration experience, including broker relationship management 
• Manager coaching experience — you have been the person managers call 
• Experience with HRIS and ATS systems 

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a high-volume hourly workforce — janitorial, staffing, logistics, hospitality, or similar 
• SHRM-CP or PHR — valued, not required if your track record speaks for itself 
• Bilingual English/Spanish — a meaningful plus given our team member population 
• Experience building training and development programs
