ABOUT THIS ROLE

As a Part-Time Electrical Instructor at WMCI, you'll play a key role in shaping the next generation of licensed electricians. This hands-on, evening-based role focuses on delivering high-quality instruction to apprentices enrolled in our Level 2 and Level 3 Electrical Apprenticeship Program.

You'll bring the classroom to life by connecting real-world electrical experience with practical application, helping apprentices build both technical knowledge and confidence as they advance in the trade.

In this role, you will:

  • Instruct and Inspire: Deliver engaging Mike Holt curriculum and reinforce National Electrical Code (NEC) concepts, helping apprentices connect theory to real-world jobsite application.
  • Create Dynamic Learning Environments: Foster a professional, respectful classroom and lab setting where adult learners feel supported, challenged, and motivated to grow.
  • Bridge Classroom and Field: Lead hands-on lab activities that reinforce key electrical concepts, tools, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Lead with Precision: Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress, ensuring alignment with apprenticeship program requirements.
  • Ensure Excellence: Participate in required professional development days and uphold WMCI's standards for safety, instruction, and program delivery.

ABOUT YOU

You're a skilled electrical professional who takes pride in your craft and is ready to invest in the next generation. You understand that great instruction goes beyond technical expertise, it's about communication, patience, and mentorship.

You're comfortable breaking down complex concepts, sharing real-world examples, and supporting adult learners at different stages of their development. You value professionalism, preparation, and the opportunity to make a lasting impact on your trade.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Technical Expertise: Journeyman or Master Electrician license required.
  • Industry Experience: Minimum of five years of field experience in the electrical trade.
  • Code Knowledge: Strong, current understanding of the National Electrical Code
  • Instructional Ability: Prior teaching, training, or mentoring experience preferred; ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to adult learners is essential.
