Industrial Equipment Mechanic

At West Liberty Foods, we're looking for Maintenance Technicians who enjoy troubleshooting equipment, solving mechanical problems, and keeping production running safely and efficiently. In this role, you'll work on conveyors, motors, pneumatic systems, and automated production equipment while expanding your technical skills in a modern manufacturing environment.

Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Shift: Days (2-2-3)

Hours: 6:00am - 6:00pm

Hourly Wage: $25-$33 /Hour

Shift Premium: Available to 2nd, 3rd and Night shifts

** Sign-On Bonus: $3000**

As a Maintenance Technician, you'll help keep production equipment operating safely and efficiently by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and completing repairs on a variety of industrial systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair industrial production equipment and automated machinery
• Perform preventive maintenance to improve equipment reliability and uptime
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical issues
• Assist with installation, adjustment, and maintenance of production equipment
• Read and interpret equipment manuals, diagrams, and schematics
• Complete work orders and maintenance documentation
• Support continuous improvement efforts that increase equipment performance and efficiency
• Partner with production teams to minimize downtime and follow all safety and food safety procedures

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 1 or more years of maintenance related experience troubleshooting mechanical and electrical/electronic systems
• Ability to read and write English with the ability to comprehend basic maintenance manuals, read prints/schematics/drawings.

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical training, trade school, military maintenance experience, or an Associate's Degree in a related field is preferred
• 2 or more years of maintenance experience in manufacturing, food processing, packaging, distribution, agricultural processing, or another industrial environment
• Experience working with industrial equipment. Examples may include: conveyors, motors, pumps, gearboxes or production machinery
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair pneumatic, hydraulic, and/or automation systems
• Exposure to automated or PLC-controlled equipment is a plus, but not required
• Experience using a CMMS or maintenance work order system is beneficial

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to climb ladders and work from elevated platforms when necessary
• Ability to work in varying temperature environments
• Ability to safely perform maintenance activities in a manufacturing setting
