Supplier Quality Manager
West Leland Group is partnering with a growing life sciences organization seeking a Supplier Quality Manager to lead supplier quality activities across a global network of contract manufacturers, suppliers, and service providers supporting medical device, combination product, and pharmaceutical programs.
This is an opportunity for a supplier quality professional to take ownership of supplier qualification, auditing, supplier oversight, and supplier performance across a global supplier network. The role offers broad exposure to quality agreements, risk management, and global manufacturing operations within a complex regulated environment.
Location & Travel
- Hybrid schedule with a 3-day per week in-office requirement
- Travel up to approximately 40-50%, including occasional international supplier audits
What You'll Do
- Conduct and lead external supplier audits, both remotely and on-site, to evaluate compliance with applicable GMP requirements and quality standards
- Lead supplier qualification and ongoing supplier management activities across contract manufacturers, material suppliers, laboratories, and service providers
- Develop and maintain supplier qualification strategies using a risk-based approach
- Support annual audit planning and execution activities across a global supplier network
- Manage supplier performance metrics, supplier scorecards, and ongoing monitoring activities
- Support the development, review, and maintenance of Quality Agreements to ensure alignment with quality, regulatory, and business requirements
- Partner with suppliers and internal stakeholders to identify, investigate, and resolve supplier quality issues
- Drive supplier corrective action activities, including review and follow-up of audit observations, CAPAs, and SCARs
- Manage supplier change notifications and assess potential impact to products, processes, and compliance requirements
- Provide guidance and expertise on supplier quality risks, compliance concerns, and continuous improvement opportunities
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, or a related scientific discipline preferred
- Experience within medical device, combination product, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology environments, with medical device experience strongly preferred
- Strong external auditing experience, including the ability to independently lead supplier audits
- Demonstrated experience managing supplier qualification, supplier oversight, and supplier quality systems
- Experience supporting Quality Agreements, supplier investigations, supplier corrective actions, and supplier change management activities
- Working knowledge of GMP regulations, quality systems, and risk-based supplier qualification methodologies
- Ability to build effective relationships with suppliers, contract manufacturers, and internal stakeholders
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
