Responsibilities
- Diagnose endodontic conditions through comprehensive patient assessment, medical history review, and dental imaging interpretation
- Perform root canal therapy, including cleaning, shaping, obturation, and retreatments with precision and aseptic technique
- Collaborate with general dentists and specialists to develop treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and dental records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Utilize dental terminology effectively to communicate treatment plans and procedures to patients and team members
- Ensure infection control protocols are strictly followed to maintain a sterile environment during all procedures
- Stay current with advancements in endodontics by participating in continuing education and applying new techniques or materials as appropriate
Requirements
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited institution
- Valid state license to practice dentistry with specialization in endodontics or eligibility for certification
- Proven experience in endodontic procedures such as root canal therapy, re-treatments, and apicoectomy procedures
- Proficiency with dental software systems such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix for scheduling, documentation, and record management
- Strong knowledge of dental anatomy, medical imaging techniques, and infection control standards
- Ability to perform general dentistry tasks including dental extractions and prosthodontics when necessary
- Excellent patient care skills with a focus on comfort, education, and building trust during treatment sessions
- Familiarity with pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, and pediatrics is a plus for treating diverse patient populations
