What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Services Director (Impact & Mobility Strategist) position at West Kentucky Allied Services, Inc.?
The Mission: From Crisis to Capability
At West Kentucky Allied Services, we believe that providing a safety net is only the first step. Our goal is to catch people in their moment of need and then provide the ladder they need to climb.
We are seeking a Community Services Director who understands the delicate balance between immediate relief (keeping the lights on and the heat running) and long-term economic mobility (helping families move toward self-sufficiency). You will oversee our core programs, including CSBG and LIHEAP, ensuring they work in harmony to stabilize lives today and create opportunities for tomorrow.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Direct the daily operations of the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG), LIHEAP, and other vital agency programs. You aren't just checking boxes; you’re designing the roadmap for regional impact.
- The Mobility Architect: Design and implement policies and case management strategies that transition clients from crisis assistance to sustainable economic independence.
- Compliance & Excellence: Ensure all programs meet the highest standards of Results-Oriented Management and Accountability (ROMA). You will lead the Community Needs Assessment and Strategic Plan to ensure our services evolve with the region’s needs.
- Team Empowerment: Manage and mentor the Community Services staff, fostering a culture of empathy, efficiency, and professional growth.
- Financial Stewardship: Develop and manage program budgets with precision, ensuring that every dollar is maximized to serve the community.
- Data with a Purpose: Oversee client intake and data analysis, translating numbers into stories of impact for the WKAS Board and our funding partners.
Job Qualifications
- The Foundation: A college degree in a relevant field (or an equivalent blend of education and management experience).
- The Expert: Proven experience working with families in poverty and a deep understanding of crisis assistance dynamics.
- The Strategist: Strong organizational and budget management skills with a keen eye for detail and compliance.
- The Communicator: Exceptional verbal and written skills, with the ability to represent WKAS to regional stakeholders and government partners.
- The Tech-Savvy Leader: Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital reporting systems.
- Bonus Points: Certification as a ROMA Implementer or Trainer is highly preferred.
