What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technical Director position at West Immanuel Lutheran Church?
Overview:
The Technical Director position is responsible for maintaining and improving West Immanuel’s technological abilities. The main responsibilities will take place during the Sunday morning service to monitor and improve the sound of our worship, both in house and on the live stream. This will initially be a 2-3 hour per week position, with a 100$ per week stipend. There will also be opportunities to expand the role depending on capabilities and desire by improving our online presence through website redesign, YouTube Channel editing and moderation, and social media postings.
Qualifications:
- Willingness to participate in and assist the worship of God
- Ability to work as a team and take direction
- Working knowledge of audio equipment and video equipment, with room to learn
- We use an Allen & Heath QU-16 Mixer and a Sony AX 7III camera
- Ability to document and teach methods to volunteers
Tasks:
- Be present on Sunday mornings 9-11am for 9:30am service
- With additional time for Christmas and Easter services
- Run, mix, and improve sound for in-house speakers and stream
- Take feedback from parishioners and listen to stream archive for areas of improvement
- Train volunteers on stream and sound mix basics
- Report to Pastor and Office Administrator
Hours and Compensation:
- Initial - 2-4 hours/week, 100$/week
- Additional responsibility and compensation available based on candidate’s interest and ability
