What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cement Hauler position at West Hawaii Concrete?
Posting is for Waimea location only.
Will cross-train in ready mix as back-up.
Duties
- Properly follow company safety procedures in the efficient operation of semi trucks and miscellaneous duties assigned by the supervisor.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and safe working environment in and around the work area as per the supervisor's instructions.
- Deliver construction materials to both industrial and residential areas.
- Understand and follow delivery and shift schedules directed and scheduled by the dispatchers both verbally and in writing.
- Work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
- Maintain assigned truck by keeping efficient working condition and cleanliness of equipment.
- Perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major repair problems to the supervisor.
- Work effectively with others such as supervisors, employees, and the public.
- Maintain a positive attitude.
- Have previous truck driving experience, preferably semi.
- Experience with 8-10 speed transmissions.
- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. occasionally during the day.
- Good reading and writing skills.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Manage an irregular work schedule including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- Current CDL class A with tanker endorsement.
- Current medical examiner's certificate.
- Good driving record.
