Director of Staff Development (DSD)Job Summary:We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Staff Development (DSD) to join our team at West Haven Healthcare in West Covina, California. As a DSD, you will be responsible for directing in-service educational programs, scheduling and posting monthly nursing schedules, and maintaining accurate staffing records. If you have a strong background in supervision, teaching, and leadership, and are passionate about promoting professional growth and development, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.Responsibilities:• Direct in-service educational programs in accordance with current federal, state, and local regulations as well as facility policies and procedures• Schedule and post monthly nursing schedules• Maintain accurate staffing records, including attendance, call-offs, and shift assignments• Review and update employee records, including job descriptions and performance evaluations• Develop and implement staff development programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge• Provide guidance, support, and feedback to staff members• Collaborate with department directors to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies for resolution• Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent employee information• Perform other related duties as assignedRequirements:• High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's degree in nursing, education, or a related field preferred• Experience in supervision and principles of teaching and leadership• License to practice as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of California• Certification as a Director of Staff Development (DSD) required• Ability to speak, read, and write English effectively• Emotional maturity, reliability, tact, integrity, and good judgment• Ability to interact effectively with team members, residents, families, and visitorsPhysical Demands/Work Environment:The physical demands and work environment described herein are representative of those that generally must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
