Responsibilities
- Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning teeth and removing plaque, tartar, and stains using ultrasonic scalers and hand instruments.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions.
- Take dental radiographs accurately to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options to promote lifelong dental health.
- Document all patient interactions, treatments, and observations clearly in electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Eaglesoft
- Follow infection control protocols aligned with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient safety and confidentiality at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid license as a Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations.
- Proven experience in dental office settings with familiarity in general dentistry procedures.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical terminology.
- Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft
- Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively and collaborate with team members.
