What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sewing Department Support (Day Shift Position) position at West Georgia Cornhole?
Summary:
- Assists in the operations of the sewing department.
- Operate industrial sewing machines, industrial laser cutter, heat press, automatic bag filler, machine software programs
- Complete maintenance on sewing machines (other than major repairs)
- Read and understand custom workorders
- Meet delivery deadlines by working with team to ensure products made correctly and with good quality
- Understand quality requirements and how this position affects quality: on time delivery, material tracking, and meeting customer requirements
Requirements:
- Promptness
- Ability follow instructions consistently with minimum supervision
- Ability to read shop orders and follow sewing standards
- Must work well with area supervisors and all other departments in the shop
- Have good judgement when issues arise such as customer requirements, variances in raw material quality, and variances in end product quality
- Prepare machine by changing needles and thread, oiling and changing bobbin, and securing attachments
- Sew materials together by guiding material under machines needle
- Responsible for maintaining quality in completed products
- Meet or exceed monthly productivity goals for the position
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Maintains quality by inspecting finished product
- Must follow company rules & regulations
- Must be able to multitask and lift 25lbs
- Strong attention to detail
Availability:
Must be available to work Monday thru Friday 8:00- 4:30
