Utility Worker – Mechanic's Shop
West Florida Electric Cooperative | Graceville Office
West Florida Electric Cooperative has an immediate opening for a Utility Worker in the mechanic's shop at our Graceville office. This position supports cooperative mechanics in maintaining our vehicle fleet to minimize downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect and test vehicles and equipment for mechanical malfunctions
- Perform minor maintenance and repair work
- Keep the automotive shop, parts and tools inventory, and cooperative vehicles clean and organized
- Read and interpret documents and maintain cooperative records
- Assist with maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, and warehouse/stores
- Interact professionally with employees and the public
- Comply with all safety rules and cooperative policies
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Florida Class A CDL required
- Basic computer and keyboarding skills required
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to follow instructions, lift heavy objects, stand, bend, and work in confined spaces
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Prior mechanic's shop experience or familiarity with electric utility equipment/materials preferred
