PEDIATRIC MEDICAL ASSISTANT
Pediatric Medical Assistants provide administrative support to ensure efficient operation while working directly with the Providers and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication. We are looking for qualified candidates with open availability:
Role & Responsibilities
- Escort patients to exam rooms, measure vital signs, weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and/or chief complaints
- Document all information in the patient’s electronic chart
- Give instructions to patients as instructed by Provider
- Assisting in specimen collection and sending out/following up on lab requisitions and dispose of contaminated supplies
- Knowledge of phlebotomy in a pediatrics
- Perform in-office lab tests (i.e. strep testing, HGB, Lead, etc.)
- Perform specialized testing such as vision screening and hearing tests
- Schedule and Confirm Appointments
- Maintain all logs and required checks (i.e. refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, etc.)
- Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization as required
- Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders and verifying receipt
- Adhere to all practice policies and remain HIPAA Compliant
- Work on projects or tasks designated by the department manager
- Recording chief complaints
- Complete all tasks accurately, with high quality, and in a timely manner.
- Training of new staff joining in the same position
- Making patient appointments and checking in patients
- General administrative duties
Qualifications
- Experienced Medical Assistant
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritizes work
- Ability to handle a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Weekend availability required
- Knowledge EclinincalWorks EMR software preferred
