Role Description
As a Lead Designer at West Elm, you will play a key role in guiding and inspiring the in-store design team to deliver exceptional customer experiences. This Full-Time, on-site position in Tucson, AZ, involves managing the visual presentation of the store, ensuring key product stories are displayed effectively, and leading design consultations to assist customers in creating spaces that reflect their personal style. You will also work to build strong customer relationships and support the store team in achieving sales and design goals. You will go to clients homes for design projects and work with our Business to Business teams.
Responsibilities
· Create engaging experiences for customers by sharing expertise on enhancing your home
· Provide daily support to the management team by performing opening and closing routines, register functions and back office procedures
· Provide supervision to ensure store is meeting financial goals and associates are providing World-Class service to our guests
· Ensure store meets visual, replenishment, cleanliness, safety and back of house standards during manage-on- duty shifts
·Effectively perform the Selling Captain role, serving as a role model for sales associates in sales generation and customer service by making the customer experience the priority
· Maintain an environment where all associates are treated fairly and with dignity and respect, in accordance with our People First Philosophy
Qualifications
- Expertise in Interior Design and Spatial Planning
- Strong skills in Visual Merchandising and Product Styling
- Proficient in Customer Consultation and Relationship Building
- Experience in Leadership and Team Collaboration
- Excellent Communication and Organizational Skills
- Passion for Home Design and Helping Customers Express Their Style
- Ability to Stay Current with Design Trends and Local Market Insights
- Prior retail or interior design experience is a plus
- Degree or certification in Interior Design or a related field is preferred
